Post Degree

In order to practice the profession corresponding to one’s degree, current regulations require passing a State Examination aimed at obtaining professional qualification.
Only after passing the State Examination is one authorized to practice the related profession and eligible to register with the corresponding Professional Register.
The State Examinations take place twice a year, in two sessions, and are announced by ministerial decree

The PhD is a third-level program and has a duration of no less than 3 years.

The doctoral path includes training activities that encompass basic and advanced disciplinary and interdisciplinary education, specific training dedicated to research management, knowledge of European and international systems, as well as the enhancement of research and intellectual property.

Since 2018, the University of Sassari has established the Doctoral School with the aim of promoting, organizing, and managing service and support activities related to PhD programs. The School also fosters interdisciplinarity, transversal skills, international exchanges, and provides a range of services and opportunities for students enrolled in PhD programs and for alumni who have already obtained the doctoral degree.

The School ensures centralized administrative services for all procedures (from admission to the awarding of the degree) as well as academic secretarial support.

All PhD programs administratively based at the University of Sassari, along with those affiliated through consortia, are part of the Doctoral School.

The Postgraduate Medical School is a post-graduate professional program designed to provide knowledge and skills for carrying out highly qualified functions required for the practice of specific professions.

The admission requirement is a Master’s degree or another academic qualification obtained abroad and recognized as equivalent.

At our university, students can mainly choose among three types of schools:

• Medical Area
• Health and Veterinary Area
• Other Schools

To obtain the specialization diploma, students must earn a certain number of credits within a set timeframe; the educational requirements are established by specific ministerial decrees.
